삶의 분명한 목표를 가져라

"What do you want me to do for you?" (Mark 10:51)
わたしに何をしてほしいのか」（マルコ10：51）
Above all, to live a successful life, we must have clear goals. These goals are not achieved simply by coming up with some plausible slogan. First, there must be a burning desire in our hearts to achieve those goals.
「私たちが充実した人生を送るためには、何よりもまず明確な目標が必要です。この目標は、単に聞こえの良いスローガンを掲げただけで達成できるものではありません。まず、私たちの心の中に、その目標に向けた燃えるような情熱（あるいは強い願い）がなければなりません。」
(Mark 10:46-52) Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, longed to see the world—even if only once in his lifetime. Although he sat begging by the roadside today, he held onto the dream that someday he would regain his sight. To make that happen, he had no choice but to hope for a miracle.
However, he heard rumors that Jesus of Nazareth was performing miracles. From that day on, Bartimaeus’s goal was to meet Jesus and have his sight restored.
One day, hearing the clamor of the crowd calling for "Jesus of Nazareth," and learning that Jesus was passing by, Bartimaeus began to cry out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Though others dismissed it as a hollow cry, to Bartimaeus, it was a fervent plea with a divine purpose. The Lord stood still and asked, "What do you want me to do for you?"
“ I want to see.” Bartimaeus answered without hesitation. And he was healed just as he had hoped, believed, and envisioned. Today, the Lord still asks us, "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus blesses those who live with a clear goal in life.
The goal of Andrew Carnegie, America’s steel tycoon, was to make every worker a saver. Henry Ford, the automobile king, had the goal of putting wheels on the feet of every American citizen. Because they achieved these clear goals, they were able to become legendary magnates. Indeed, without a burning goal in life, no one can live a successful life.
"For us Christians, our ultimate purpose is found in Jesus Christ." The Bible says, "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God." (Colossians 3:1).
Our greatest purpose is to serve Christ, fulfill the desires and will given by the Lord, and to advance toward the Lord’s eternal kingdom. I pray that the grace and blessings of this word may overflow abundantly in your life.

삶의 분명한 목표를 가져라
“네게 무엇을 하여 주기를 원하느냐” (마가복음 10:51)
우리가 성공적인 인생을 살기 위해서는 무엇보다도 분명한 목표가 있어야 합니다. 이 목표는 아무것이나 그럴 듯한 표어를 내걸어 놓는다고 이뤄지는 것이 아닙니다. 먼저 우리의 마음 가운데 그 목표를 향한 불타는 소원이 있어야 합니다.
(마가복음 10:46-52) 거지 맹인 바디매오는 평생에 한 번이라도 좋으니 세상을 보는 것이 소원이었습니다. 비록 오늘은 길가에 앉아 구걸을 하여도 언젠가는 시력을 되찾으리라는 꿈이 있었습니다. 그렇게 되기 위해서는 기적을 기대하지 않으면 안 되었습니다.
그런데 소문에 들으니 나사렛 예수가 기적적인 능력을 행한다는 것이었습니다. 그날부터 바디매오의 목표는 예수님을 만나 눈을 뜨는 것이었습니다.
어느 날 그는 군중들이 “나사렛 예수”라고 부르는 소리를 들었습니다. 예수님께서 지나가신다는 말을 듣자 바디매오는 “다윗의 자손 예수여, 나를 불쌍히 여기소서.”라고 고함쳤습니다. 다른 사람이 보기에는 허공을 울리는 소리 같았지만 바디매오에게는 분명한 목표를 가진 진지한 부르짖음이었습니다. 주님께서 걸음을 멈추시고 물으셨습니다. “네게 무엇을 하여 주기를 원하느냐?”
“보기를 원하나이다.” 바디매오는 서슴지 않고 대답했습니다. 그리고 그가 꿈꾸고 소망하며 믿은 대로 고침을 받았습니다.
주님은 오늘 우리에게도 “네게 무엇을 하여 주기를 원하느냐?”라고 물으십니다. 예수님께서는 분명한 삶의 목표가 있는 사람을 축복하십니다.
미국의 강철 왕 카네기의 목표는 모든 노동자들이 저금통장을 갖고 살 수 있도록 하는 것이었습니다. 자동차 왕 헨리 포드에게는 미국 시민들의 발에 바퀴를 달아주자는 목표가 있었습니다. 그래서 이들이 성공하여 목표를 이루고, 거부가 될 수 있었던 것입니다. 불타는 생의 목표가 없이는 아무도 성공적인 생활을 할 수 없습니다.
우리 기독교인들에게 있어서 최대의 목적은 예수 그리스도 안에 있습니다. 성경에는 “그러므로 너희가 그리스도와 함께 다시 살리심을 받았으면 위의 것을 찾으라 거기는 그리스도께서 하나님 우편에 앉아 계시느니라”(골로새서 3:1)고 했습니다.
우리의 최대 목적은 그리스도를 섬기며, 주님께서 주신 소원과 뜻을 이루며, 영생하는 주님의 나라로 나아가는 것입니다. 이 말씀의 은총과 복이 차고 넘치시기를 소망합니다.
